So what
exactly is Homeopathy and how does it work?
Homeopathy
is a form of complementary medicine that works on the basis that “Like cures Like”. Homeopathy stimulates the body to heal
itself by looking at an individual’s symptoms of disease and matching them with
those of the remedy prescribed. Homeopathic remedies work gently and effectively
and are safe for all to use.
All
homeopathic remedies are tested on humans, never on animals.Remedies are tested by way of a process
called Proving, when a group of healthy
people are given a few doses of the same remedy.Symptoms brought about by the remedy are then
carefully logged and categorised.It is
by this process that homeopaths know which remedies to prescribe. We will look
for the same symptoms in the sick person as were created by the remedy in the
previously healthy group of individuals proving the remedy.
The
remedies are prepared in a particular way. Firstly, the basic substance is
potentised – this means that, say, a plant or a mineral is ground up, diluted
in water and shaken (succussed) vigorously.During it’s preparation it is further diluted and succussed many times
which makes the original substance completely safe to use.By the time potentisation is complete, very
little or none of the original material substance can be detected. And this is the interesting part about
homeopathy, which cannot yet be explained, because it is during this process
when the original substance becomes an energy medicine. This might sound far
fetched … but don’t log off yet!It has
been known by scientists for many years that human beings have an
electro-magnetic field … and so do the remedies. This is vital energy, and it is this part of the
remedy, their frequency, that corresponds with the frequency of sickness in the
individual, leading to the healing reaction. So, it’s true to say that the homeopathic remedies are a catalyst for
the human body to heal itself. And,
although it may seem difficult to believe or fully understand how it works,
homeopathy has worked time and time again to bring healing to those suffering
with acute and chronic illness of all kinds over the past two hundred years.
